Armando Tellez (he/him) recently began his role as the Program Director for the Bruin Underground Scholars (BUS) and the Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) as of November 2021. In his role he works with incarcerated, formerly incarcerated, system impacted, and students in recovery to build a awareness about the unique challenges and assets BUS and CRP students posses, and demonstrate how their lived experience can inform future policies and practices. Armando earned his bachelor's degree in Sociology from UC Los Angeles and a master’s in Higher Education Leadership and Policy from the University of Texas at Austin.
